See Newcastle’s most haunted Buildings: The Black Gate Tenement House. As you pass by, you’ll hear stories of the Buildings more bizarre and permanent tenants. Hear the gruesome saga of the Tomes Herring and his 1700 victims, and see where his final victim breathed her last.

Comfortable shoes are recommended so that you don’t become dead on your feet during the 1 hour and 30 minutes of terror and history. This tour includes entry into the haunted Castle Keep as well as an outdoors tour of St Nicholas Graveyard.
This tour may not be suitable for children under 12 years of age. Due to the content of our tour, children under the age of 4 are not allowed on this tour. The tour is also unsuitable for wheel chare access due to the structure of the building and the many steps. Any one taking part in the tour should know that the Castle contains many old steps.
Tour Times: This is a trial tour and will not always be operated. The tour starts at The Castle Keep, Castle Garth NE1 1RQ. Every Saturday at 3.30pm but we recommend calling first to make sure the tour is available as places fill fast.

The 8.30pm ghost tour is for adults only and contains the use of bad language and references to a sexual nature. Sometimes the tours may over run due to circumstances of the tour party, we apologies for this and this is why the tour starts by 7.10pm and 8.40pm. If you are reviewing the ghost tour you must get prior permission before hand and no article or thread can be posted about this tour unless we are notified first.There is a maximum of one child to every one adult.
